Drawing a Flower

Today was a very simple art lesson of drawing a flower with colored pencils. Da Vinci being our inspiration, you know, Leonardo. Cooper loves him because he invented the tank. Bobbi loves him because he usually carried a sketchbook. I need to remind Cooper that colored pencils are our friends. To use many, even mixed together. Sometimes lightly. The yellow on green makes is seem as if the sun is hitting it and the blue on green makes the green look shaded. Line drawings today. Part of Leonardo's Nature study. Ava likes to add extras to her pictures. Today she added cotton ball clouds. Charlie gets distracted by the dirt. Cooper likes to "hurry a little" so he can get in the dirt and Bobbi, well she is still shading, of course. Regardless, pencil drawing flowers (and dirt) is relaxing. our last christmas, little did we know!! we miss you-you are always in our thoughts. We sold his house, it was as if we had to say goodbye again. Nothing but fond memories. Movie night, hide and go seek, fishing, the beach, pool table, weight room, ice cream, bagels, peach diet iced tea, laughing...simply you. Miss you more than you will ever know. It feels as if it was just yesterday, thank God you are "free". "With your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye, go in peace and laugh on Glory's side.
