Ava turns 9 - NINE!!!!

This is the day of Ava's POOL party because she is turning NINE years old!

From the time we woke up it rained and rained and rained. We had to move on to plan B.

Bobby hosted his own version of, Let's Make a Deal! Everyone had to get into a costume from the pretty horrific costume chest in order to be considered a contestant. You had to choose bag 1, 2 or 3 to win a prize. Some won money and some won expired cranberry sauce. I think one might have even won a can of pink salmon.

Baby looks face but is oh so real. Ava could have held him ALL day!

These are all the contestants. At the point I took this pic most have stripped off their costume.

We did pause to watch the Shuttle take off.

Ava has played this game for years. The game where you put a starburst in the middle of the plate and then fill it with whipped cream. The first one to finish the starburst wins. Look at Maddie and Ava. That is so funny.

There was a point where it was just raining with no lightning. So, they swam for a bit. After all it was a pool party.

Bobbi made this doll for Ava at Christmas but she made this new dress for her birthday.

Oh, sweet Ava. You are such a joy to have in our family. I think you are lovely from the inside out. You have a servant's heart and a quiet way about you - BUT your actions speak louder than words. You love babies (real or fake), you love barbies, tea parties and soccer. You are the best salad maker around. I love you and can not wait to see what God does in your 9 year old life! Happy Birthday!!!!

our last christmas, little did we know!! we miss you-you are always in our thoughts. We sold his house, it was as if we had to say goodbye again. Nothing but fond memories. Movie night, hide and go seek, fishing, the beach, pool table, weight room, ice cream, bagels, peach diet iced tea, laughing...simply you. Miss you more than you will ever know. It feels as if it was just yesterday, thank God you are "free". "With your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye, go in peace and laugh on Glory's side. And fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and LIVE....." .
